Participants will gain a basic understanding of glaze theory and carry out and analyze the results of line blends and triaxial blends over the two days. This course doesn’t cover glaze application. We will be reintroducing our 4 Day Specialist Glaze Theory Course in 2026 once the Leach Pottery building project is finished.
When: Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 April 2025 Bernard’s Studio.
Where: Bernard's Studio, The Leach Pottery
Places: 8
Duration: 2 days. Core teaching hours: Day 1: 9 – 5pm , Day 2: 10 - 3pm. Please arrive at 9am on the first day of your course.
Equipment & materials: Tools and test tiles are provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own additional tools if they wish to use them.
Please bring your own apron and hand towel.
We recommend you bring your own 3M half mask respirator. If you do not bring a mask with you, we can provide a basic mask.
This course will: Provide you will an introduction to the science of glazing and how to make and alter your own glazes.
You will leave with: A set of test tiles
Level: Intermediate to advanced potters- amateurs and professionals.
