My work as a ceramicist is a continuous exploration of beauty, a pursuit I believe is fundamental to human existence. We all seek beauty in its many forms—an emotion that is both immediate and universal. I view functional pottery as a bridge between art and life, where practical utility and personal expression coexist in harmony.
The challenge of blending function with creativity defines my approach. Boundaries and constraints are not obstacles but opportunities—catalysts for innovation that push the creative process forward.
I see each piece I create as a projection of the human spirit, shaped by the time, place, and emotions of its making. The nature of a good pot reflects the mind of its creator, and through forms that give permission, foster a bond and shared dialogue between the maker and user. Solidifying one of the many duties a craftsman takes on in this world.
Whether teaching, creating, or sharing traditions, I am deeply committed to the transformative power of functional ceramics—objects that embody practicality and evoke profound emotive responses, bridging the dualities of art and life.
