Object Identification

Due to the increasing number of enquires and our very limited resources we regret that we are no longer able to provide object identification information for members of the public.

We are a small charity and most of our staff work part time. Although we would love to help everyone, it is becoming an increasing burden that we are not always able to perform in the turnaround time people often expect.

There are plenty of other resources for information. We suggest the following examples:

  •  The V&A provide an Opinion Service is available on the first Tuesday of every month from 2.30- 5pm.

  • If you would like to do some research into your pottery you can always visit our reference library

Valuations

It is against Museum policy (set by the Museums Association Code of Ethics) to give valuations, or to provide opinions in order to assist in obtaining valuations.
