Sarah Dunstan: Shop

Cornish potter Sarah Dunstan works from her Studio in St Ives. She uses flat sheets of stoneware clay as a canvas, painting surfaces with coloured slips, then applying intricate ‘fretwork’ patterns, individually carved from a thin layer of porcelain.

No stencils are used, instead every design is hand drawn and then cut from the porcelain sheet before being transferred to the prepared slab in a unique process Sarah has perfected over many years.

Sarah’s work has a fragile elegance and charm; colours are soft, with a powdered finish or luxurious and bold: unique forms with exquisite attention to detail. Explore below.
