Tomo Enokida

Tomo Enokida was born and raised in Osaka, moving to Mashiko in 2009. He married into the Enokida-gama pottery family which has been long-established in Mashiko. Tomo’s work is based on the traditions of Mashiko pottery approached through the perspective of mingei.

During the summer of 2022 he, along with his fellow Mashiko potter Muneaki Iwashita came to the Leach Pottery as part of the Leach 100 Residency programme, where they apprenticed alongside the Production Potters in the Leach Pottery Studio, training on selected forms from the Standard Ware range, as well as producing their own work.
