Henry is based in Falmouth, Cornwall making his own range and bespoke pieces at his studio. Currently taking a 1 year sabbatical from the Leach Pottery after 3 years working as a production potter, since January 2021. This is to give Henry the opportunity to take forward his experience and develop independently.

Henry studied Art Foundation and progressed onto 3D Design at Loughborough University in 2012-2016. During this time Henry explored different crafts, techniques and processes; gravitating towards ceramics in his final year and specialising in wood fired ceramics.

He went on to train at Whichford Pottery from 2018-2020, where he learned to throw flowerpots, pack large kilns and general production practice. He moved to Cornwall in December 2020.

While at the Leach Pottery Henry learned the process of making the Standard Ware range, which directly informed the development of his own work. He embraced the materials and facilities available, working with the local stoneware clay, glazes and reduction gas firing process. Focusing on everyday, functional pots naturally inspired by those around him and the rich artistic heritage of St Ives.

Henry is now experimenting and developing his own glazes and clays, firing with gas or wood.
